Promoting TPSR in Summer Camps

Summer camps provide a unique setting to foster personal growth alongside recreation. By integrating the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model, camps can intentionally support youth in developing key life skills such as respect, effort, self-direction, and leadership. Through structured activities, group challenges, and regular moments for reflection, campers are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, support their peers, and make thoughtful choices. TPSR helps create a positive camp culture where youth feel empowered to grow and contribute during camp and beyond.
